HELP ME CHALLENGE CHARTER'S NEW CABLECARD COPY PROTECTION SETTINGS

In San Luis Obispo, California, Charter Cable recently (July 2014) converted to an all digital and all encrypted channel lineup - now, when using a CableCard, Local Broadcast Channels are NOT set to Copy Freely (in violation of federal law) and therefore are not recordable on a home-built DVR (Digital Video Recorder).  More info about my trials and tribulations is HERE.  Please help me by contacting me if you know how I should try and get this changed or if you are a Charter customer who is experiencing something similar.

Thanks,
Gary

TrixBox PBX

On-hold -- new Trixbox looks easier (config wise) than Asterisk-at-Home so probably will try to do a quick install soon.

Version # TBD --- download URL TBD.

SageTV PVR Problems

I've installed SageTV on the HP2 PC (1.8G P4 with 512MB RAM) with a Hauppauge PVR-350 TV Tuner Card (that also has HW encoding video out). It's basically working but now has the following "open issues":

1.) Remote control volume change buttons move sound slider on screen but does not change any of the audio outputs (from PVR-350 or Motherboard Audio outputs).
2.) I can loop MB audio to 350 Line In but Sage provides no audio in setup for the 350 -- so I don't yet know how to turn on the 350 line in?
3.) DVD playback crashes Windows and only plays on an overlay which does not go out the video card S-VID port or the 350 out port.
NEED TO CHECK DVD PLAYER COMPATIBILITY
4.) Accessing files (like shared music and pictures) on a Network Share with Password fails. The PC can get to it with no additional credentials so I know the current user/password is OK. How do I get Sage to authenticate on the Network Share?
MUST USE UNC FILE NAME PATH
5.) When PC first starts up picture has heavy pixelization on scene change but if I go to Sage "standby" and return Sage seems to re-initialize OK (not sure if I really understand this yet). Seems to be an initialization at power up problem.
6.) When timed recording starts, current channel (even if same as recording) freezes -- must return to "TV" to get live TV on channel being recorded. Why? How fix?
